Châtel |
Châtel is a traditional farming village set just on the border between France and Switzerland, in the Haute-Savoie region of France. It has retained its' rustic charm and local traditions whilst providing superb modern facilities for winter and summer tourists. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from, a bowling alley, 2 cinemas, an ice rink, and many more outdoor activities such as bob-sleighing, paragliding and the unique "Fantasticable". For more information on this, children's activities and more, please follow this link to the Châtel tourist office.
Châtel's unique micro-climate created by its proximity to Lake Geneva means it has some of the best snow conditions on record in the Alps. Just take a look at the 2005 snow depths graph from The Ski Club of Great Britain on the left!
